Stop Displacement on East 10th Avenue: Support the East 10th Avenue Tenants Collective!

The 400 and 500 blocks of East 10th Avenue are facing destruction by Fastmark. Run by Hans Fast, a 31-year-old developer from a family well established in the real estate and development industry in Vancouver, the company plans to gut much of the 400 and 500 blocks of East 10th Avenue for their first ever high-rise projects, which would put no fewer than 3 towers on this small side street and displace current residents.

Dozens of tenants facing demoviction on this street have been organizing together since news of the rezoning applications in 2023 and 2024 to ensure that no one is left behind. From door knocking to gathering the community for a Block Party for Halloween, tenants have come together to defend their homes.

In these houses, 20+ year tenants face losing their homes, 35% of tenants are ineligible for Broadway Plan renter protections, and tenants in shared houses are losing the collective spaces they’ve built. You can read their testimonies here.

As the threat of demoviction is moving closer, they need support more than ever.

Take action now! Send a letter and sign the pledge to stand with East 10th tenants. We won’t let developers destroy our neighbours’ homes.
