On August 18, 2018, a VTU member from the Kitsilano area organized a community meeting in their neighbourhood...

The open meeting invited local tenants to the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House to share their experiences renting, with group discussion that included elements of education, mutual support, and on-the-spot advocacy.

The meeting organizers also planted the seeds for tenant organizing in the neighbourhood, connecting individual issues of affordability and rights to the need to build a tenant-powered movement city-wide.

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend, share their stories and support their fellow tenants. Who knows, perhaps this could perhaps be the start of a VTU Kitsilano chapter?
