After weeks of planning, our launch event on April 29th, 2017 drew almost 200 people.

Founding Steering Committee members Kell & Jo MC'd the event, which included a welcome from Musqueam Warrior Audrey Siegl, stories from tenants across the city, and musical performances by the Re-sisters & Johnny Jaworski.

Founders Wendy and Lama then introduced the VTU's four demands and a newly launched website was unveiled as a tool for tenant self-organizing.

The event garnered a lot of press, drawing many more new members to sign up on our website.
